Off-grid storage FAQ

Will lithium fit my existing battery bay?
Yes in most coaches. Our RV batteries are built to standard group 24, 27 and 31 footprints so they drop into the same tray with the same terminal layout.
Do I need a new converter or charger?
Your charging source needs a lithium (LiFePO4) profile. Many modern converters have a lithium setting; older lead-acid-only converters should be replaced or reconfigured.
Can I charge from the alternator?
Yes, with a DC-DC charger. Charging straight from the alternator can overload it because lithium accepts current so aggressively.
How many batteries do I need?
Add your daily amp-hour draw and multiply by the nights you want off grid. Most weekend travelers land on 100 to 200Ah; full-timers usually run 300Ah or more.
Is it safe to mount inside the coach?
Yes. LiFePO4 vents no gas and holds no liquid acid, so it is safe in a sealed interior compartment.
What happens in freezing weather?
The BMS blocks charging below freezing to protect the cells. Heated models warm themselves so you can keep charging in winter.
