Lithium power for your 48V Bad Boy Buggy

Spend less time watering batteries and more time using your buggy. The Fleet Lithium conversion kit combines your selected 51.2V LiFePO4 battery configuration with a matched lithium charger, Bad Boy mounting kit, SOC display and 12V reducer.

Choose 105Ah, 168Ah or 210Ah for compatible factory 48V Classic, Buggy and XD vehicles. Confirm your exact model, original battery bank and controller wiring before installation. The original Classic uses eight 6V lead-acid batteries; other layouts can differ.

Choose your capacity

Capacity Configuration Nominal energy Use
105Ah One pack 5.38 kWh Regular use with charging between outings
168Ah One pack 8.60 kWh More reserve in a single-pack installation
210Ah Two matched 105Ah packs in parallel 10.75 kWh Greatest capacity in this bundle

All options operate at 51.2V nominal. Terrain, vehicle condition, passengers, cargo, tires, temperature and accessories affect range. Select enough capacity for your route plus a reserve.

What is included

  • 51V NexGen Fleet Lithium LiFePO4 battery configuration in your selected capacity
  • CH5618 — 58.4V, 18A lithium charger
  • BR5204 — Bad Boy 48V vehicle mounting kit and hardware
  • AC0219 — AC inlet
  • CB0917 — main battery cable set, 35.4 inches
  • VR4812 — pack-to-12V voltage reducer
  • Digital state-of-charge gauge

For 210Ah, follow the approved matched-pair, parallel harness and protection instructions. Confirm the delivered mounting parts, cable reach and connection specifications before removing the old bank.

Built for easier battery ownership

  • No battery watering or lead-acid equalization. Follow normal inspection, charging and storage guidance.
  • Battery information when you need it. Use the supplied SOC display and supported Bluetooth monitoring.
  • Heating for cold charging conditions. Current NexGen packs use internal heating during the charging process, not while driving.
  • Fleet support and warranty coverage. See the current warranty terms and registration requirements.

Fitment and wiring

This bundle is listed for compatible factory 48V Bad Boy Classic, Buggy and XD vehicles. It is not a 72V or hybrid conversion. Send Fleet your model/serial label, controller labels and battery-compartment photos if the vehicle has been modified or its configuration is unclear.

Identify every original battery tap. Confirmed 12V accessories must use the correctly wired and protected reducer output. Key, contactor and direction controls need their specified voltage and return; some arrangements require a vehicle-specific interface. Verify winch current separately. Use the delivered vehicle and kit instructions for torque, protection, mounting and any controller requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can a 48V Bad Boy Buggy be converted to lithium?
Yes, a compatible factory 48V lead-acid Bad Boy can use the Fleet 51.2V LiFePO4 conversion system. Confirm the model, controller arrangement, mounting and low-voltage circuits before choosing the kit. This guide does not cover 72V or hybrid systems.

Why is the replacement battery labeled 51V instead of 48V?
Fleet uses 51V as the product name for a 51.2V nominal LiFePO4 battery. It is the lithium configuration offered for this compatible 48V vehicle class. Nominal voltage alone does not establish vehicle compatibility.

Can I reuse the original lead-acid charger?
Use the matched CH5618 58.4V, 18A lithium charger. Do not use the original lead-acid charger on the Fleet lithium pack. Preserve any vehicle charging interlock with the approved interface.

Will my lights and winch still work?
Confirmed 12V accessories use the correctly wired and protected 12V supply. Check a winch separately: its starting and operating current may exceed an accessory reducer. Existing control wires also need their correct voltage and return; they are not automatically accessory wires.

Is the 210Ah system one battery?
No. The 210Ah option uses two matched 51.2V 105Ah packs in parallel. Total capacity is 210Ah and nominal voltage stays 51.2V. Use the approved parallel harness and matching procedure, never a series connection.

How long does installation take?
There is no dependable universal installation time. Battery removal, tray condition, mounting, legacy control wiring, charging interfaces and testing all affect the job. Identify the complete system before scheduling the work.

The battery worked well

The battery worked well. The mount brackets are too tall to use on my 2009 BadBoy Buggie, as battery would be above the seat bottom. This required a lot of modifications to the battery support to secure the battery.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback! We're glad the battery worked well. We appreciate your note about the mount brackets and will consider ways to improve compatibility. If you need any assistance or advice on modifications, feel free to reach out!
