Drop-In Lithium Power for Your Bad Boy Buggies 48V

Replace all six lead-acid batteries in your Bad Boy Buggies 48V (Classic, Buggy, XD — all years) with a single, lightweight 51V LiFePO4 lithium battery conversion kit from Fleet Lithium. The factory Bad Boy uses six 8V batteries wired in series (48V total). Our drop-in kits consolidate all of that into one compact unit — no rewiring, no programming, no special tools.

Choose the capacity that matches your driving needs and enjoy longer range, faster charging, and maintenance-free performance for years to come.

Choose Your Range

Capacity Energy (kWh) Estimated Range Best For
51V 105Ah 5.38 kWh Up to 50 miles* Daily driving, golf, errands
51V 168Ah 8.60 kWh Up to 75 miles* All-day use, hunting, ranch
51V 210Ah 10.75 kWh Up to 90 miles* Maximum range, fleet & commercial

Cold-Weather Charging Protection — Standard on Every Pack

Every Fleet Lithium battery includes a built-in heater that activates automatically when charging below 32°F (0°C). This protects the cells during cold-weather charging — no extra charge, unlike competitors who charge $200–$400 for heated versions.

FAQ

Will this fit my Bad Boy Buggies? Yes. The included BR5204 bracket kit ensures a secure, factory-fit installation for all 48V Bad Boy models. No modifications required.

Do I need to reprogram my controller? No. The factory 48V DC controller accepts the 51V lithium pack out of the box.

How long does installation take? 30–60 minutes with basic hand tools.

Does it work in cold weather? Yes. Built-in heater activates automatically below 32°F for safe cold-weather charging. The heater does not run during discharge/driving.

Will my 12V accessories still work? Yes. The included VR4812 voltage reducer steps the 51V pack down to 12V for your lights, horn, gauges, and accessories.

Which capacity should I choose? 105Ah for up to 50 miles (most popular), 168Ah for up to 75 miles, or 210Ah for up to 90 miles maximum range.

*Range estimates represent maximum distance under ideal conditions (flat terrain, single occupant, 12–15 mph, fully charged, 70°F). Actual range varies based on terrain, weight, speed, temperature, and driving habits.

The battery worked well

The battery worked well. The mount brackets are too tall to use on my 2009 BadBoy Buggie, as battery would be above the seat bottom. This required a lot of modifications to the battery support to secure the battery.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback! We're glad the battery worked well. We appreciate your note about the mount brackets and will consider ways to improve compatibility. If you need any assistance or advice on modifications, feel free to reach out!

About Fleet Lithium

Built for demanding applications. Ready for everyday use.

Fleet Lithium develops high-output LiFePO4 battery systems for golf carts, LSVs, UTVs, marine, RV, and off-grid applications. We combine serious power capability with application-specific fitment, complete conversion components, and direct technical support.

Why Fleet is in our name

Fleet Lithium was built around equipment that gets used hard and cannot afford unreliable power.

Fleet Lithium was built around equipment that gets used hard and cannot afford unreliable power. Government fleets, rental operators, farms, hunting properties, and utility vehicles were our proving ground—not the modified-cart trend.

Those demanding applications shaped our approach from the beginning: build batteries with the power, control, and durability required for heavy daily use. That same overbuilt approach now serves individual golf cart, LSV, UTV, boat, RV, and off-grid customers who simply want a system they can depend on.

More than a battery in a box

A successful lithium conversion takes more than matching voltage and amp-hours.

Battery output, controller demand, charger programming, mounting, cabling, vehicle electronics, and communication protocols all have to work together. Fleet Lithium develops complete systems around the application so customers and installers do not have to piece together a conversion and hope the components are compatible.

Depending on the application, a Fleet Lithium solution may include the battery, matched charger, mounting hardware, cables, gauge or display integration, programming, installation guidance, and direct technical support.

Power and control built into the system

Fleet Lithium’s current NexGen battery management platform is rated for 300 amps of continuous discharge and up to 800 amps of peak output. It is designed to support real controller demand without treating every short power surge as an overload.

Select Fleet Lithium systems also support features such as OEM CAN-bus integration, cold-weather charging automation, Bluetooth monitoring, and GPS or geofencing for fleet security and operational control. These capabilities are application-dependent—not included with every battery.

  • 300A continuous / 800A peak surge discharge
  • OEM CAN-bus integration on select systems
  • Cold-weather charging, Bluetooth, GPS/geofencing where applicable

The application matters as much as the voltage

Two vehicles can use the same nominal voltage and still require completely different batteries, mounting solutions, chargers, cables, programming, or controller considerations.

Fleet Lithium researches vehicle generations, battery compartments, electrical architecture, controller demand, and charging requirements to develop application-specific configurations. Where fitment or installation requirements are verified, we document them clearly. Where additional validation is still required, we do not present an assumption as a confirmed fit.

Built for the way you actually use it

Whether you manage a working fleet, operate equipment on a farm, hunt remote property, commute in an LSV, cruise in a golf cart, spend the day on the water, or need dependable off-grid power, Fleet Lithium is built around the application—not just the battery specification.
